Fun family-friendly events happening in Albuquerque

There are a lot of fun events for the family this upcoming weekend.

The annual Heights Summerfest is Saturday, June 8 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the North Domingo Baca Park. The free event features fun for the whole family including an artisan market, microbrew garden, food trucks and live entertainment from local and national acts.

Also happening is the weekend are performances of two beloved Shakespearean classics, which is apart of the New Mexico Shakespeare Festival. The performances start at 7:30 p.m. at the New Mexico Veteran’s Memorial Park.

Another event happening this weekend is “An Evening in Paradise” hosted by Commissioner Lonnie C. Talbert. The event starts at 3 p.m. at the Paradise Hills Community Center. Commissioner Talbert will honor the outstanding citizens at 5:30 p.m. There will also be food trucks, kid activities and a movie in the park.
