Run for the Zoo and walk with us too!

Our own Guide to Living Local, Sara Rose, was out at Run for the Zoo to cheer on all the great participants running.

Run for the Zoo and Walk with us Too is on its 34th year, presented by Bank of America and the New Mexico BioPark Society. The first Run for the Zoo in 1985 attracted just 800 participants; since then, it has grown to such popularity that they must now cap the event at 12,000 participants!
Participation in Run for the Zoo is vital to the work they do at the BioPark Society. The funds raised through this event go back to support the city’s most treasured facilities, OUR Zoo, Aquarium, Botanic Garden and Tingley Beach. By registering for the Run for the Zoo, you’re helping the ABQ BioPark staff care for the lemurs and all the other animal residents at the Zoo. Funds raised helped purchase enrichment items, vet care equipment, education outreach and so much more.

Plus as a bonus, if you participate, your BIB (Event Number) allows you FREE entrance into the Zoo on event day!
