Legendary New Mexico

Legendary New Mexico explores the legends and history of the Land of Enchantment, the great State of New Mexico. The world enchantment means a “feeling of great pleasure or delight.” It also means being under the influence of a spell or magic, which is a fitting nickname for New Mexico.

This episode explores the success of entrepreneurs and businesses both big and small.

Episode 10: Women – we’ll take a closer look at the women who have made local and global impacts in the Land of Enchantment. These women are entrepreneurs, storytellers, activists and artists. They all also share one thing in common: an indelible connection to New Mexico.

Episode 9: Helping Children Dream Big – One of the definitions of “Vision” is an experience of seeing someone or something in a dream. That is what this episode of Legendary New Mexico is all about. It’s getting New Mexico children to have the vision and dream to go big.The following clips and stories highlight what is being done to get kids to do amazing things right here in New Mexico.

Episode 8: Winter Sports – In this episode of Legendary New Mexico, we are honoring the state’s winter sports heroes. The purpose of the New Mexico Ski Hall of Fame is to honor pioneers, competitors and people who give their heart and soul to the development of skiing and snowboarding in New Mexico. The hall of fame and the New Mexico Ski Museum is located at the base of the Sandia Peak Tramway. There are about 32 individuals in the hall of fame, including the New Mexico Ski Team from 2005.

Episode 7: Native American Heritage & Culture – In this episode, Native American Heritage & Culture, we do our best to honor and remember the Native American influence in New Mexico. From a center dedicated to keeping the traditions of 19 Pueblos alive, to the distinct languages, to the deep history of the Pueblos and Tribes in our state, Native American Heritage & Culture is an essential part of Legendary New Mexico.

Episode 6: Hispanic Culture – New Mexico has the highest percentage of Hispanic ancestry that any other state at forty-eight percent. The cultural, culinary and creative influence of the old world and Latin America are an indelible part of our state. On this episode of Legendary new Mexico, we explore our Hispanic heritage and its impact on New Mexico’s past, present and future. We look at and understand the contributions of Hispanics to the development of New Mexico and the nation as well as what people are doing to preserve the New Mexican Hispanic heritage and culture.

Episode 5: Military Special – New Mexico has a rich military history, hero’s from ever generation who have served our country, and many made the ultimate sacrifice. Legendary New Mexico honors the men and women who have served their country, the imprint New Mexico has made on the military and highlight some of it’s greatest heroes.

Episode 4: Agriculture & Ranching – You know it’s been said that if you eat locally grown food and you wear locally produced clothing you’re apart of New Mexico’s agricultural history. Legendary explores that history from it’s humble beginnings to a multi-billion dollar enterprise.

Episode 3: Holiday Traditions – Normand Rockwell is famous for his seasonal painting depicting snow lined streets of middle American, plump turkey with cranberry sauce and stuffing, and pitched roofs abodes festively lit for the holidays. Now as anyone growing up here in New Mexico knows, the landscape looks a little different, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. In this special holiday edition of Legendary New Mexico we explore the diversity of celebration throughout our great state, discovering what makes our holiday season unlike anywhere else in the nation.
